Nepal has four UNESCO World Heritage Sites in total, two cultural and two natural. The cultural listing for the Kathmandu Valley actually covers seven separate monument zones under a single designation, which is why you'll often see it described as "seven UNESCO sites" even though it's one official listing.
Cultural
- Kathmandu Valley (one UNESCO listing, covering seven monument zones):
- Kathmandu Durbar Square
- Patan Durbar Square
- Bhaktapur Durbar Square
- Swayambhunath
- Boudhanath Stupa
- Pashupatinath
- Changu Narayan
- Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha (a separate, standalone listing)
Natural
- Sagarmatha National Park, 1,148 km²
- Chitwan National Park, 952.63 km² (the "Royal" prefix was dropped after the monarchy ended in 2008)
